08/11/2019 - SABO to upgrade SABO®STAB UV 119 Hindered Amine Light Stabilizer manufacturing unit.

SABO is pleased to announce plans to further upgrade the fully integrated manufacturing unit located on the BASF Chemical site in Pontecchio Marconi, Italy. Improvements to shared site infrastructure, along with introduction of new technologies for key intermediates, will allow SABO to gain additional capacity, thus improving its ability to respond to the increasing market demand for SABO®STAB UV 119. The scope of the investment project also includes a supply agreement between SABO and BASF for SABO®STAB UV 119.

In 2009, SABO acquired the SABO®STAB UV 119 global business and related technology assets from Ciba Specialty Chemicals. In 2013, SABO completed a project that doubled its SABO®STAB UV 119 manufacturing capacity.

SABO®STAB UV 119 is the hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS) of choice for demanding applications; its market position is due to unmatched performance and to the highest production volumes compliant with REACH that only the original and proprietary manufacturing process can provide. The polymer industry successfully uses SABO®STAB UV 119 for applications such as agriculture films, artificial grass and automotive parts.
